• Worked as part of a team of 5 to build a human centred assistive and rehabilitation device for physical rehabilitation. • Designed a maze box kit with handle and an interactive computer game which could provide feedback on the rehabilitation. • Focused on electronics to implement Arduino 101 board, sensors and Bluetooth module to monitor patient’s upper limb motion. • Used MATLAB to log sensor readings and programmed on Arduino to set up serial communication via Bluetooth module with computer for data transmission; helped with debugging game code in Unity.

BICV Group WiFi Indoor Navigation Project
• Worked as part of a team of 5 to mainly investigate the distribution of WiFi signal strength with respect to physical locations. • Designed three types of data collection experiments to prove the relationship between sensor data and user’s movement. • Applied supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms in MATLAB to classify the WiFi signal strength clusters and investigate the limit of accuracy of this WiFi indoor navigation hypothesis.

Imperial Cybathlon powered wheelchair Team
• Worked as part of a team of 10 on the Rio Tinto Sports Innovation Challenge—Cybathlon powered wheelchair project. • According to the rules of the Cybathlon competition, designed a desirable wheelchair which can help parathletes to complete different tasks, and implemented designs into pragmatic utilizations. • Led a sub team focusing on the control system and established clear milestones in project progress; provided feedback to team members for future project planning. Accountable for cost control and managing GBP1000 budget for the project. • Promoted to continue as summer research project, working as part of a team of 3. • Focused on designing wheel mechanism which can convert between wheel mode and track mode and prototype the model • Was invited to attend Cybathlon rehearsal in Zurich to learn about different powered wheelchair designs.
